Akua Opong

Akua works as a Senior Analyst within the Corporate Technology team at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

As part of her role, she mentors new starters in the team, including interns and graduates, and provides technical guidance to colleagues across the Group. Akua is process-driven and enjoys project work, as well as sharing knowledge through technical documentation.

Her passion for helping others naturally progressed her into a career in technology, where she has worked for over 8 years supporting thousands of people globally. A computer science graduate, Akua was introduced to Infrastructure Support whilst undertaking her placement year at university with Rolls Royce Motor Cars Ltd. She then landed her first tech job supporting the Dubai Royal Family across their UK properties and has since worked in desktop support roles at Rathbone Brothers Plc and PA Consulting Group.

Outside of her main role at LSEG, Akua is a keen diversity & inclusion advocate, a mental health champion and a community lead for LSEG’s Women’s Inspired Network. She is passionate about raising the profile of Women in STEM. Through the LSEG Accessibility Network, Akua works alongside the Change Ambassador Network, researching and testing accessibility tools and raising awareness of making an inclusive environment for neurodivergent staff.

Akua is a neurodiversity advocate (self identifies as dyslexic and has ADD), a fundraiser, Team London ambassador and charity volunteer. She is a keen sports volunteer for Netball England and British Athletics.
