Amrita Kooner

Amrita is a Senior Managing Consultant in IBM’s DevSecOps Practice specialising in delivering digital change for Financial Services clients, and she also leads the IBM Engine Room.

Through building the IBM Engine Room as a centre for learning, innovation and technical excellence, Amrita has been responsible for over 70 IBMers becoming technical and up-skilling as Cloud Engineers. In addition to this, she has led in the completion of over 120 proofs of concept working with clients across all sectors to demonstrate the benefits of Cloud and DevSecOps.

As the Operational Lead for the DevSecOps Practice, Amrita is responsible for managing recruitment, staffing, promotions and our early professional community. She is a keen advocate for diversity and inclusion leading on early professional recruitment for DevSecOps Engineers within the organisation, and she is actively encouraging more women to consider a career in engineering. Amrita personally mentors 7 fellow women and 6 men in tech, and she has played a pivotal role in supporting many others through their career growth, promotions and personal development. Those that know her will know that she puts her people first and makes sure that their individual growth and wellbeing is always the most important thing.

Amrita is passionate about using technology to tackle real-world scenarios. In 2020, she led the team responsible for developing an IBM Digital Health Pass, which was a COVID-19 health passport solution designed to aid the return to work, travel and entertainment. In 2021, she was part of a team that worked on an initiative with the goal to support those impacted by the Afghanistan crisis. In her free time, she also volunteers at a not-for-profit advocating for women within the UK.
