Bethany is an Associate in the Technology Risk team at Morgan Stanley, based in Glasgow. As a Technology Risk Analyst, she is responsible for delivering data-driven solutions to meet reporting requirements across the EMEA & North American risk landscapes. She is passionate about the power of data and creating engaging visuals to deliver information to stakeholders.

As a Modern Languages graduate, Bethany comes from a non-STEM background. During her studies, she was fascinated by semiotics and the art of visualising concepts. In the last seven years, she has honed her technology skills and expertise. She took her first step into Tech as a consultant seven years ago, where she managed Tech projects within media and retail banking organisations, before discovering her love of data and joining Morgan Stanley. One year ago, Bethany made an internal move from a Business Intelligence role within the Chief Operating Office to the more technical Risk Analyst position she holds now.

Since joining Morgan Stanley, she has been a proud member of the Glasgow Women in Technology (WIT) committee. She founded a Community Outreach programme under this umbrella and is using her tech skills for good, further supporting Dress for Success and additional women’s charities. Bethany coordinated a skills development seminar focusing on; employability skills such as agile development, leadership, Microsoft Excel and more. Bethany has also provided opportunities for others in the network to do the same, via the launch of the external mentoring initiative. This initiative partnered local charity staff with volunteer Morgan Stanley mentors, to provide 1-2-1 coaching on tech use cases and professional skills.
