Banking is technology. That’s why at Barclays innovation and technology is at the heart of our business as we enable our clients, customers and colleagues to succeed. Over the years there has been a seismic shift in the way the banking and financial services industry is approaching technology – today, just about every activity is powered by digital, informed by analytics, or streamlined by automation, which means we have teams who are integrating and enhancing existing applications and infrastructure in the cloud, and investing in emerging and sustainable technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and other smart solutions. I am proud of what we are delivering and none of it would be possible without the incredible tech talent we have at Barclays. The role of our female tech talent within this is pivotal and we are committed to investing in and building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture across the business where it truly is happening here. It’s hugely important that we shine a light on and celebrate the successes of our female talent as role models in technology. I’m very proud that Barclays is the headline sponsor for the 2023 We Are Tech World Conference and have no doubt that it will continue to inspire females from the wider industry in their technology careers.Craig Bright, Group Chief Information Officer, Barclays
