I always knew I wanted to work in technology, but never knew in what capacity. Therefore upon joining IBM in 2018 as an Intelligent Connected Operations Consultant I was ready for new experiences.

I’ve rotated several roles from an Application Developer, to Business Analyst, Project Manager and Workstream Lead gaining insights into technical delivery, commercials, stakeholder management, design thinking workshop facilitation, digital transformation and bid support. I’ve seen technology and change implemented from numerous angles, each time growing my role to understand more of what it means to drive disruptive change and both implement and integrate multiple systems.

I’ve worked with a number of clients in the public and private sectors across multiple industries such as Retail, Distribution, Industrial and Government.

Despite roles and projects constantly evolving, the one aspect of technology that I’ve consistently been involved with is Artificial Intelligence. After crafting a tool to help mitigate bias and govern AI systems during my dissertation, I published the framework in IBM Systems Journal and have been continuing research in this area. Outside of my client work I help create assets to embed ethics into Artificially Intelligent systems, as well as submitting 4 patents, speaking at numerous conferences, leading the UKI AI Ethics Community, and working with external standards organisations such as IEEE to help shape the future landscape of AI implementations.
