Elena has managed to turn her fascination with technology and materials into a career, by making the future tangible today through the development of lifestyle products that people can use daily. Started as a research associate at MIT Media Lab, where she specialised in wearables, making prototypes for BBC, Diageo, Unilever, Audi, Ericsson, London Olympics, British Council and more, even bringing to the market her own inventions and winning many awards for innovation, sustainability and education.
Her work has been widely exhibited and published. She teaches at science festivals and institutions such as the V&A. Loves inspiring and mentoring other girls and woman from Prince Andrew’s initiative TeenTech to Imperial College and EDF initiative PrettyCurious. In the areas of VR/AR, robotics, IoT products and apps. Whenever finding a gap she makes video tutorials on Youtube to encourage girls to love science (STEAM)
As a professional speaker Elena presents at conferences from China to US most of western Europe, Nigeria and Thailand. From TEDx to EmTech by MIT Technology Review, private innovation conferences such as SAP Women Leadership and Julius Baer Visions.
Most recently she has been appointed as Unruly’s Futurist doing research and educating clients on the future of advertising in the IoT era. Presenting internationally from Singapore Spikes conference last week to NY, London, Germany and US to CMO’s and CEO’s of Global Brands such as Nestle, Unilever, Samsung, News Corp, etc.
