Fenglian Xu is an IBM Master Inventor and a senior software engineer. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, UK.
She is currently working on the Hyperledger Composer project which is an open source contributed to the IBM Blockchain technology. Her main contribution to the project is the query feature. As a Master Inventor, Fenglian has 20 patents and she is leading Invention Development Team(IDT) within IBM by reviewing disclosures and mentoring colleagues. Her patents come cross in a wide range of technology areas such as messaging, services, social media, and security.
She has worked in IT industry for over 19 years as a researcher, developer, consultant, architect and a team lead.
She joined IBM 11 years ago as an experienced hire and has worked as a software developer and a technical lead in various IBM products including messaging, integration and the service and content management.
Prior to IBM Fenglian has worked in both academia and various IT industries where she has prototyped and implemented many services and applications. She has a wide range of software engineering skills.
She is a contributed author of IBM developerWorks and an author of the IBM Redbook of the Master Reference Data Management.
