Gillian Meek | Business Analyst | J.P.Morgan Chase

 

I joined the finance industry in 2013 as a Commodities Financial Settlements Analyst after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Glasgow in Mathematics and Statistics. I was responsible for instructing settlement, ensuring pricing was accurate, and following up on failed settlements. The most exciting part of this ops role was investigating breaks where systems and processes had failed and engineering a solution.

A year later I transitioned to a Business Analyst at JP Morgan. I was keen to progress my love for implementing solutions to business challenges. I was a key contributor in the decommission of a legacy application with a focus on optimizing middle office workflows.

I then took internal mobility and moved to London where my role was expanded to include implementing and optimizing tech solutions to meet front office needs.

Today I am not just a key contributor for the decommissioning of the remaining legacy applications, but I am leading the project in my role as product owner and project manager. I work with a large, global stakeholder group across Business, Operations, Finance, Legal, Corporate Reporting, Compliance and Technology.
