On leaving university, I searched for graduate jobs whilst I worked for free at my mother’s company; a London Recycling firm.
Whilst there I met a manager who spoke passionately about the lack of Women in Technology roles & eventually offered me a role in his new Business Analytics Programme. He let me set my own salary. Here, I learnt to code and implemented a company wide Business Intelligence tool through open source software.
I quickly grew out of the role and taught myself some other coding languages before I applied to Visa Europe where I met the cleanest and most structured data i’d ever get to play with. I was a consultant analyst working with transactional data to build insights for Bank’s in an internal data consulting team. I met some excellent statistician & coders here and worked for 2 highly intelligent female managers.
Whilst I enjoyed my time at Visa, I dreamed of diving deeper into technology and wanted to move away from stats & databases. I applied for Accenture and joined the team in May 2015.
Accenture has given me so many possibilities in learning & working with tech. I feel incredibly lucky to work with very motivated and intellectual technologists who teach me something new every day. I work with the Fintech lab, learning about brilliantly innovative new start ups and helping apply them to industry. I work on projects in dyer need of tech change, within retail banking, mortgages and payments. More recently I am working on exciting new propositions across financial services and beyond.
Above all, my MO is to be an inspiring and motivating leader. I want my team to feel like they’re making a difference in impacting people’s lives positively through tech. I always want to be excited & be wowed with whatever i’m working on and want my team to feel that too.
