Jessica Leigh Jones

Jessica Leigh Jones began her career in engineering with the development of a series of novel fibre optic sensing technologies.

In 2012, she became the UK Young Engineer of the Year and received the IET Intel Inspiration Award for Entrepreneurship for efforts to commercialise the technology.

Jessica has since spent her career in manufacturing, developing cutting-edge industry 4.0 technologies for a world-leading consumer electronics manufacturer. Jessica was named Everywoman in Technology Rising Star in 2016, Women of the Future for Technology and Digital in 2017, and also appeared in the Manufacturer Top 100 list, as a top 20 exemplar figure.

Amid the global labour market disruption in early 2020, Jessica quit her full-time job and co-founded a technology start-up to help people affected by covid-19 to upskill, retrain and secure re-employment. Jessica is Chief Executive Officer of iungo solutions, the CareerTech start-up working to democratise excellent careers for everyone.

Jessica is Vice Chair of WJEC/Eduqas and a Non-Executive Director for the Institute of Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE). She was appointed a Visiting Professor for Employability and Professional Skills at the University of Wales Trinity St David (UWTSD) through the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2020.

Jessica is a Chartered Quality Professional and Associate Member of the CIPD. She has received the Freedom of the City of London and featured in the 2018 Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list and the 2020 Who’s Who list of influential people affecting British life.
