I joined British Gas (now part of Centrica), as an IT graduate.
I loved my operational placements, and my first substantive post followed that passion. I gained lots of general technical experience supporting desktops, applications, and telephony, early in my career. I then joined our Mobile Technology team supporting British Gas field engineers. I went on to manage the field first line support desk before it was outsourced and then went on to manage our Mobile User Computing team where we consulted on hardware selection, developed software builds and safeguarded the integrity of UK field workers devices. We explored new technology that would benefit our field workers, and ultimately our customers.
At the beginning of this year, I took a leap in my technical career and took on a new challenge, becoming Head of Salesforce Platform in Centrica. I have a small team of DevOps engineers and we are adding huge value to the Salesforce estate we have in Centrica – saving £200k this year and introducing important security guardrails.
Additionally, I am passionate about gender diversity and very proud to be co-chair of the Centrica Women’s Network.
