Location: Our main hub is Birmingham, some travel may be required to the Birmingham office

The opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for delivery of best-in-class recruitment administration to enable EY’s Talent Attraction and Acquisition (Student Recruitment) team to achieve the Firm’s student recruitment targets. You will also be responsible for the oversight of Talent related compliance and audit activity (both internal and external). In addition, you will lead on change, managing quality and risk, driving innovation, contributing to projects, having strong, visible business relationships with senior stakeholders in the Talent team and the wider Firm, and sharing best practice from across the Recruitment, Talent and global marketplace.

Your key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a close business relationship with the Talent Attraction and Acquisition Student Recruitment team as well as key stakeholders in the business to focus on continuous improvement and potential service changes, evolving the use of technology to increase operational efficiency across both teams.
• Assess requests for any new service (or change to existing), ensuring all aspects of change are identified and proactively managed to achieve a smooth transition and achievement of commercial targets.
• Review and analyse working practices and behaviors in the team and lead the development of plans/new ways of working to enhance the service and achieve greater efficiencies.
• Drive strategic projects to support the improvement, innovation, and automation of the service.
• Determine and provide relevant management information on the performance of the service to relevant stakeholder groups, to assist decision making and demonstrate that the service is fit for purpose.
• Leadership and development of the Student Hire team, building motivation and engagement, particularly during periods of changing priorities and activity levels.
• Overall responsibility for team management including counselling, coaching and mentoring, cross team training, resource planning and resolution of complex service issues.
• Build awareness and contribute to local and global plans and initiatives, specifically sharing best practice with other Talent colleagues.
• Overall responsibility and oversight of the various compliance related activities across the UK Talent Team, including internal and external audits, managing stakeholders appropriately.

To qualify for the role you must have

• A proven track record in managing a large team with significant experience in the creation of high performing teams
• Leadership competencies consistent with a senior management or large team leadership role
• Proven change management skills, including driving change
• A commercial mindset and strong business acumen

Ideally, you’ll also have

• High level complex, conceptual problem-solving skills with the ability to develop a wide sphere of influence
• Experience of working in a HR shared service environment
