Overview
We are looking for a Fixed Income Asset Management professional to join the Fixed Income Solutions team. The Solutions team is a group of technology minded Fixed Income SME’s that act as an accelerator to engineering teams, a business partner to stakeholders and provide technology leadership with insight into how we can realize synergies across investments technology. The solutions team provide expertise across the investments facing technology teams (Attribution, Investment Risk, Quant Modelling & Portfolio Management Tooling). You will have either worked in asset management technology or gained exposure to technology through your own curiosity and interest. T Rowe Price are able to help you expand and develop your technology skillset and will provide training in both computer science and programming languages as well as learning from the highly experienced engineers that you will be working alongside.
Members of this group will partner with dedicated engineering teams to deliver high quality software products to investment staff. As part of the group you will;
partner with engineering managers to help plan and prioritize the roadmap and ensure system and feature design align to the long-term strategic vision.
Work alongside engineers to develop prototype code that defines complex business logic and domain specific calculation methodologies
Provide domain specific training to engineering teams so that they can better support investment staff
Breakdown complex requirements from investment staff and provide advice to them on solutions.

The FI tech business analyst is an evolution of the traditional BA role, with emphasis placed on subject matter expertise and experience in software engineering/technology. Responsibilities will be varied, and you will gain exposure to multiple workstreams giving you the opportunity to solve complex problems and provide value to both investment staff and technology.
Core Competencies and Responsibilities:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; demonstrated ability to employ fact-based decision-making to resolve complex problems, by applying logic analysis, experience and business knowledge
- Master and support vendor provided applications, primarily Bloomberg PORT.
- Partner with Investment teams to identify data quality/integrity issues and provide resolution recommendations after performing in-depth analysis
- Planning and coordination – Must excel in planning and organization to achieve job objectives, setting priorities among activities; utilizes available resources, copes with changing conditions and unforeseen events, assumes responsibility for completion of one’s own work and meets deadlines.
- Work closely with agile technology teams implement business requirements and automation.
- Provide operational support and ensure data quality in our systems, whilst working to automate away support overheads through technology.
- Develop and sustain relationships with Portfolio Managers, Risk Managers, Quants and Investment Analysts on a global basis and supporting their ongoing data requirements
- High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
- Must be a self-starter with ability to build working relationships and ability to work effectively in a global matrixed organization
- Make independent/educated judgments regarding appropriate resolutions of data anomalies
- Lead, or act as a key member of, project teams comprised of representatives from various operational areas and participate in assessing and testing new systems and upgrades/enhancements
- Flexible and comfortable with uncertainty in requirements etc. in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Must be able to independently “troubleshoot” functional and/or quantitative problems
Required Qualifications:
- Along with the responsibilities and competencies specified above, we are looking for an individual who possesses a positive, action-oriented attitude and understands the importance of taking initiative within a team environment.
- 5+ years of functional/demonstrated experience with Fixed Income products, derivatives, and analytics with an Asset Management firm.
- 5+ years of business systems analysis or experience working with and analyzing data for Front Office functions
- Hands-on knowledge of Fixed Income analytics platforms (i.e. Bloomberg PORT)
- Subject Matter Expertise in either FI Attribution, FI Risk, FI Quant, FI Portfolio Management (e.g. portfolio construction)
- General knowledge/awareness of macro financial markets and more specifically, the buy-side/asset management industry
- Solid data skills (SQL database queries, Excel/Access file manipulation, etc.) and basic programming knowledge (e.g. VBA or Python)
- Bloomberg PORT is our primary source of FI data, any experience here is advantageous.
