The Role: Senior Technical Research Analyst – Petrodata Seismic

The Team: Petrodata products within Commodity Insights at S&P Global have coverage over the entire energy value chain. Our experts bring a broad-reaching understanding of the global energy landscape that is unrivalled.

The Seismic team focuses on tracking, reporting and analysing the global marine seismic market. This post – Research Analyst – requires the colleague to deliver trusted data and market intelligence on the global offshore fleet.

Collected since 2008, Petrodata’s seismic market intelligence helps strategic planners, procurement specialists, business development managers and market analysts build a detailed view of the sector and its players.

The Impact: You will be a key member of the team reporting on and analysing developments in the global offshore seismic market. You will become an expert in the sector.

Responsibilities:

• Providing daily news to subscribers

• Gathering and maintaining accurate data of vessel contract activity

• Maintaining and growing an industry contact network

• Contributing to quarterly reports

• Analysing data trends

• Presenting to customers and providing customer support

• Updating Petrodata’s SeismicBase database

What We’re Looking For:

• Excellent written English

• Comfortable making phone calls to seek contacts, establish relationships and elicit sensitive information

• Analytical skills: ability to see and understand emerging trends and what they mean

• Editing and proofreading own work and that of others before publication
