Role/ Department:
Reporting directly to the EMEA Chief Information Security Officer, the Cyber Security Solutions Architect will play a crucial part in the protection of Northern Trust’s systems through the embedding of strong security controls and best practices throughout the project lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key security stakeholder in a variety of transformational programmes, acting as a trusted adviser and security subject matter expert to technology teams and business lines.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
§ Provide domain expertise and consultative services on Cyber / Information Security to business and technology partners.
§ Perform reviews of proposed technology solutions and ensure the integration of appropriate information security controls.
§ Ensure proposed technology solutions meet relevant policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
§ Participate in multiple EMEA projects to provide security direction and guidance in support of business goals.
§ Translate technical security requirements into plain English, ensuring business understanding and buy-in.
Skills/ Qualifications:
§ Industry information security credentials (e.g. SANS, CISSP or CSSP).
§ 5+ years of experience with security architecture or security product management with familiarity working with regulated industries and requirements.
§ Experience with architecture-based risk assessments for financial institutions, with exposure to industry standard security and privacy frameworks include NIST CSF, ISO27001/2, GDPR.
§ Understanding of cloud reference architecture for major cloud service providers (e.g. AWS, Azure).
§ Strong written and verbal communications skills.
§ Ability to engage effectively with, including providing challenge to, application development teams.
§ Ability to articulate security requirements to non-security technology/business people.
§ Experience with developing technical documentation.
§ Strong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in virtual teams.
§ Experience with variety of security technologies and services.
§ Knowledge and experience with EMEA technology/security regulations, legal and regulatory frameworks.
