I am passionate about creating a world where women have equal rights after having children. Having experienced exclusion after my first child, I know first hand how hard it can be to progress in the workplace whilst raising children.

During my second maternity leave, I struggled with finding a course to learn about digital skills that was child-friendly. This led me to do a lot of research and I discovered that women only accounted 17% of the tech workforce. That made me sad and it hit me that this was probably due to situations such as mine where I couldn’t visualise myself in tech and didn’t know which roles I would like because I hadn’t experienced them.

I decided I wanted to help women, especially mums to understand the exciting opportunities available and to create educational programmes that were fun and inspiring.

I actively speak to corporates about the skills that parents possess, highlighting parenthood as a bonus rather than a hindrance to career progression. There is so much work to do, but I believe that by bringing women and children into the workplace and hearing their stories, they will begin to see this value for themselves.

I regularly mentor women looking to get into tech or start new businesses. I am also constantly advocating for flexible working and using myself as an example of how it is possible to balance parenthood and work-life without sacrificing authenticity.
