Kam Rai

Kam’s career has been unconventional where her curiosity has taken the lead.

Kam works at PwC as a Product Manager helping bring ideas to life. She is passionate about building ventures and discovering problems to solve using technology.

During university, Kam interned as a Business Consultant at a hospitality tech start-up where Kam realised she enjoyed executing ideas. After graduating, Kam experimented by taking upon various roles, starting her career at The Walt Disney Company, jumped into investor relations and then secured a job at BBC Studios. Within the Talent Accounting and Royalties department at the BBC, she assured that TV royalties were issued to stakeholders accurately. Kam improved this process by designing a new system to manage the production companies’ portfolio. She also won the 2017 BBC Smartphone Film competition.

After 10 months of job-hopping, Kam secured a graduate position at PwC in the Technology Risk team where she worked in Cyber Security, GDPR and IT operating models. Kam researched and pitched about using Blockchain in the music industry. Kam was offered a position in the PwC Innovation Hub as a Product Manager in the Risk Assurance practice.

Kam is ambitious and driven to make an impact outside her work hours. She drives the PwC Entrepreneurs Network by hosting regular events to show how to design, launch and scale ideas or start-ups. She is a mentor for the Hatch Enterprise BAME Female Founders Program where she advises women of colour on how to execute their business ideas. Kam is part of the Effective Altruism community where she mentors graduates and individuals that want a career in technology.
