I started my journey at De Montfort University where I studied BSc (Hons) Business Information Systems, my course allowed me to increase my knowledge and understanding about various areas including information systems, database design, research and ethics, devices and networks.

The courses in the second and third year built upon my foundational knowledge and included systems building, computing ethics and data mining. I have utilised a wide range of concepts from these modules in the roles I undertaken. I completed a placement year at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, taking on the role of a Technical Consultant, where I worked on two major migration projects for industry leading banks and retail organisations, this role provided me with the opportunity to apply my foundational knowledge from University into the working world. I obtained awards for Best First, Second and Final year Business Computing & Mathematics Student after achieving the highest marks within these years.

After graduating with a First Class, PRINCE2 in Project Management accreditation, ITIL Foundation certificate in IT Service Management and a placement year at a major consultancy firm, I accepted my first role at PAREXEL Informatics (now known as Calyx), where I completed my graduate rotational roles as a Software Tester and Business Analyst. I enjoyed my time at Parexel as I became more confident and led the Graduate Community and applied principles from SAFe and became more technically knowledge about implementing test cases using Selenium and SpecFlow.

In 2019, I pursued the role of a Trainee Analyst at Next, working within Product Operations supporting retail trend analysis, migrating SQL databases and acting as SCRUM Master for several development teams. Later at Next, I identified a role for myself in the Deployments department and became a DevOps Engineer, working with various teams to deploy, test and release code and configuration to UK and International NEXT websites. I also supported key sales events including the VIP Sales, UK Sales and International events.

Shortly after exhausting all possibilities at Next, I moved to Avanade where I currently work as DevOps Analyst within the Software Engineering Talent Community and provide technical support and guidance across a range of projects within various industries. I lead an internal initiative, Road to Consultant with five colleagues, aimed at producing material to support the continual development of junior colleagues within the business.
