I am the Director of Digital Learning at a large group of independent schools in the U.K. I have been working in education for twenty years in both maintained and independent schools, having trained as a French and Spanish teacher. I worked as a Head of Department, embedding my pedagogical and team leadership skills, before developing my career in digital strategy and educational technology. I expanded my teaching repertoire to include IT and Computer Science (having taught myself core concepts, block-based coding, machine learning, and Python), and I created a curriculum which develops computational thinking, coding skills, digital literacy and online citizenship. I continue to teach, while also being responsible for leading the strategic development of technology for teaching and learning, staff training in digital skills, digital wellbeing, and online safeguarding.
I am a disruptive thinker, keynote speaker, coach, and consultant, and I am passionate about creative problem-solving. I have developed an edtech consultancy start-up within my school’s enterprise business, to support other school leaders and teachers with exploring the art of the possible. My goal is to leverage technology to improve school outcomes, systems, and teams, by sharing my deep knowledge of pedagogy, leadership, technology and safeguarding. I also volunteer at a national level to forge new paths ahead for education in innovation and AI.
