WeAreTechWomen recently published their Barriers for Women in Tech research with partners, Ipsos Mori and the Tech Talent Charter. One of the key findings stated that 1 in 5 women are thinking of leaving the technology industry.

The research also revealed a number of issues that are preventing women from reaching their full potential. Examples include unclear pathways for progression, not understanding how sponsorship can benefit their careers, access to role models, opportunities to build their networks, and their perceptions of men as allies.

With this in mind, we’re building a women in tech summit to help tackle some of these problems head on. Through our agenda of keynotes, panels, Q&A’s and breakout sessions we will be providing opportunities for our delegates to obtain an understanding of the key skills they will need to move in to more senior positions. These include finance, people management, negotiation and influencing skills. We will also focus on confidence building, how to build internal networks, how to be the master of your own career and how to maximise the power of mentorship.

About the summit

WeAreTechWomen have been running conferences and summits for the past seven years. To date, through our 85 events we have helped over 10,000 female technologists to upskill and grow their networks.

Over the past three years, we have led the way for virtual learning in the women in tech space. With the help of over 40 sponsors, 350 speakers and 60 partners, WeAreTechWomen’s One Tech World virtual conference has been the go to event for over 5,000 women globally. This year, we are proud to welcome back physical events with the introduction of our “Level Up” Women in Tech summit. The summit will take place at the QEII centre in London on 06 December 2022 and hopes to attract over 600 women in tech in person as well as thousands through our live stream.

Barriers for Women in Tech

Last year, WeAreTechWomen partnered with MORI and the Tech Talent Charter to look at the barriers women face in the tech industry.
