Natalia’s work is concerned with social justice in children’s literacy and use of technologies.

Her research takes place collaboratively across academia, commercial and third sectors. Her research led to the development of a children’s app “Our Story” and influenced the design of several commercial educational technologies.She has worked at several universities in the UK in various research roles, including University College London, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Oxford and The Open University. She is the founder of the International Collective of Research and Design in Children’s Digital Books that connects practitioners, researchers and designers working with children’s digital books and literacy apps. For her research on children’s digital reading she received the The Fridtjof Nansen Prize by The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and was awarded the Future Leaders grant by the Economic and Social Research Council/UK.
