When I was younger I studied interior design!

So it is no surprise to say that I fell into insurance tech. While I have always worked in the insurance industry, the roles that I have been in have varied. After starting in exposure management and data processing, I moved into catastrophe modelling before becoming responsible for systems and analytics in the credit and political risk division at Marsh JLT Specialty. While it may seem that interior design is a million miles away from tech, I feel that this was actually the foundation for success as I was able to bring a different point of view to the visualisation, design and implementation of technological solutions and data processes in each of these roles. My current role is as Head of Systems & Data Analytics for Credit Specialties where I manage a small team that provides analytical support to brokers. The main focus in this role is on the development of bespoke systems and processes to make the division more data driven, thus providing brokers, clients and underwriters with unique insights. Given the often outdated processes used within the insurance industry, my role is a unique opportunity to make a real impact on technological advancements and change.
