After gaining the French equivalent to a BEng in Chemical Engineering (Diplome d’ingenieur), I moved to the UK where I obtained an MSc in Process Integration at UMIST. At the time, my thesis used mathematical programming to help Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation optimise their PVC production and delivery systems. By then, I had already caught the bug and my goal was to help solve real life problems using technology.

I then joined M.W.Kellogg Ltd, an engineering contractor, where I learned my trade as a process engineer. The energy industry was an obvious choice of industry for me as it has transformed our lives and our environment, for better and for worse. As I gained experience, I quickly learned that technologies without the support of the people cannot help us reach our goals. ‘Getting the best out of our people using the best technologies’ has quickly become the mean to reach my goal. Engineering management and Project management skills completed my learnings at MWKL (which had then become KBR), before moving to BP.

At BP, I navigated the world of Audit before becoming the Executive Assistant to BP’s Head of Technology. This opportunity gave me a unique insight into BP’s technology world, which technologies we invest in, why and how. Currently, my team supports the development of BP’s petrochemicals technologies and its licensing business.
