WISE Awards

Nominations are now open for the WISE Campaign’s 2019 WISE Awards.

WISE’s annual awards recognise inspiring individuals and organisations who are actively working to promote those who are working to achieve gender balance in STEM in the UK.

With the target of one million women in STEM by 2020, it is critical that WISE highlight the hard work and successes of those who are achieving in their sector and show commitment to equality within STEM.

This year’s categories include WISE Technician Award; WISE One to Watch Award; WISE Rising Star Award; WISE Man Award; and WISE Woman in Industry Award.

This year there has been the introduction three new categories – WISE Computing Award, WISE Emerging Technology Award, and WISE Outreach Award.

The WISE Computing Award, sponsored by Goldman Sachs, is looking for a woman who shows outstanding excellence in software engineering, data science or data engineering. The WISE Emerging Technology Award, sponsored by Lloyds Banking, is looking for an individual or group working with ground-breaking technology or producing products that could revolutionise the future for consumers and/or corporates. The WISE Outreach award is searching for an individual or organisation showing exceptional outreach and engagement projects, programmes and campaigns which can show that they have inspired and enthused girls about STEM

WISE are looking for those who are achieving significantly ahead of others in their sector and commitment beyond what is expected of your daily job/business/education activity. The judges will also base their decisions on how a winner plans to use the power of their Award to continue making a difference, not just visiting your local school or university.

Nominations for the awards close on 7th June 2019 and winners will be announced on 7th November 2019.
