Aileen Edwards | Director – Lead Architect Group FX, Barclays
Aileen is the Group Lead Architect for FX, working across business and technology teams on the development of new products and enhanced capabilities to realise the firm’s growth potential in currency markets.
She started her career in technology as a developer and has worked in all aspects of the technology lifecycle; design, software development and delivery of complex projects and programmes. A multi-faceted technologist, Aileen’s previous roles have included architecting and delivering industry leading technical solutions for the Bank, amongst which are key capabilities that simplify Customer digital journeys.
Aileen has maintained a deep technical focus throughout her career and has sought roles that allow her to apply and grow that aspect of her experience. The ever-changing landscape in technology coupled with the pace of change in financial services, has provided the necessary opportunities to indulge both her creative and technical sides. She was recognised in 2021 as the firm’s Resilience Champion for the UK and Europe, following her work within the Barclays technology community to drive resilience engineering as a practice.
