Anna Holland-Smith | Internal Developer Advocate, Automattic

Anna Holland-Smith is a former Lawyer turned Software Engineer, now working as an Internal Developer Advocate at Automattic, a distributed company with 1,172 Automatticians in 76 different countries speaking 93 different languages. Alongside her work, Anna has a strong interest in improving accessibility to coding education and promoting a more diverse, inclusive and equitable tech workforce. Anna has volunteered for a number of organisations to further this aim, resulting in her being awarded the Digital Volunteer of the Year Award in 2018, and culminating with her co-founding Recode, a coding school for unemployed and underemployed people throughout Bolton and the surrounding areas, for which she was recently announced as one of The Big Issue’s Top 100 Change Makers of 2020.
