Justin Arbuckle | Chief Technology Officer for Wealth and Personal Banking, HSBC

Justin ArbuckleJustin is a passionate proponent of the transformative potential of Agile, Lean and DevOps in large enterprises and the transformational role of technology leaders in business – he is a firm believer that the future requires talented managers of talent as much as it does pure technologists.

Justin is currently the Chief Technology Officer for Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC, responsible for Cloud, DevOps, Data and Messaging technology platforms and resilience, SRE and engineering practises, globally.

Previously, Justin was Senior Vice President, Head of Enterprise Architecture and Head of The Platform Organisation at Scotiabank in Toronto, Canada. Prior to that Justin was the VP of Transformation at CHEF Software, where he built and led a team helping large enterprises become high velocity software businesses.

In his earlier career, Justin spent over 10 years at GE Capital, where he was the Chief Technology Officer of EMEA, with the responsibility of leading the Europe-wide functional restructuring of the IT organisation, and prior to that, he held the position of Global Chief Architect, where he introduced and sponsored an integrated approach to Agile, Lean and DevOps.

Justin has been working in Financial Services for the last 20 years, working in over 40 countries in numerous areas such as innovation, venture capital and consulting., In his personal time, along with Mark Birch, Justin presents a podcast, The Heretechs, on the realities of enterprise transformation.

Justin is a voracious reader, especially philosophy and poetry, and enjoys hiking with his family – wife Nina, son Sebastian, and dogs, Bounce and Bramble.
