Linda Davidson | Transformation Program Director, Group M
I was an actor, happily ‘resting’ while writing for a BBC Science programme ‘Tomorrow’s World’. The scientists were making ones and zeros communicate across the heavens and let me join in. The potential to reach people, to tell stories in new ways, to melt geographic and economic boundaries, was too powerful to ignore. I had a career change into the then new world of digital, joining the launch team of BBC Online.
Over 20 years on from my career change, I moved from the creative side into operational roles. Surprising myself at how organised I can be.
I have always worked in media organisations mostly in global roles, including The BBC, Discovery, BBC Worldwide, Channel 4 a few times, Jamie Oliver, lectured at Ravensbourne University, and now I am the Global Transformation Program Director for Group M’s Data & Technology division.
I have an ITIL 3 qualification nestling between my BAFTA and Olivier award nominations.
I was a looked after child as a girl, consequently I mentor lots of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to a better future; for this I was nominated for a Woman of The Future award.
I am also a passionate volunteer for Giving World, fighting child poverty right here in the UK.
