I’ve worked as a developer at the Bank of England since I was 18, having joined straight from sixth form on the Bank’s school leaver programme.

Although I didn’t get a choice of what area I would start working in, I’m so glad it was Technology as I’ve found something I’ve enjoyed for nearly 11 years.

I’ve worked with a variety of technologies across a number of teams, starting as a junior developer supporting in-house systems and then progressing to a Subject Matter Expert for those systems. Most recently I’ve been working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform on the CRM Platform team. I joined the team in 2018 and after taking on the responsibility of lead developer for a number of successful projects, I was promoted to a senior developer last year.

Back when I joined the Bank in 2011 I was incredibly shy and even hated having to make phone calls to customers but now I’m leading a team of developers and providing demos to hundreds of people on a project that’s part of one of the highest profile programmes the Bank has ever delivered.

I’m also passionate about promoting wellbeing having been a Wellbeing Champion and a member of the Technology Inclusion Council. I’ve helped organise multiple Diversity and Inclusion based initiatives within our division, ranging from inclusive fitness challenges to team volunteering days at local charities.
