Currently the Chief Delivery Officer for Smart DCC Limited (DCC), I am responsible for delivering the data communications infrastructure to enable the nationwide rollout of 53 million electricity and gas smart meters by 2020. Smart meters represent a once in a generation opportunity to transform the energy industry. The rollout of smart meters will help consumers to better understand and manage their energy usage and to make better informed decisions about how they buy their energy. Accurate, near real-time information captured by smart meters will support the energy market in becoming more responsive, efficient and flexible.
My background is heavily focused in the energy industry, my career in technology really began in British Gas as a programme manager in 2000, working with a team to implement a new billing and customer relationship management (CRM) capability for 14 million British Gas residential energy customers. Working with SAP and Siebel solutions and managing complex and technical data migration programmes is where my passion began. Using technology to drive best in class customer experiences has been the focus of my career for the past 18 years. With the support of Centrica I was able to develop and build the skills and capabilities necessary for the delivery of large, complex and technical programmes across the organisation.
In 2016 I was delighted and proud to be the Programme Director leading a large complex SAP CRM and SAP billing implementation across the British Gas residential energy and services businesses, delivering substantial benefits. Including; process redesign, complex customer migration across multiple platforms and ensuring Business Readiness across multiple sites and operating models I am excited to be at the heart of the Smart energy revolution and am passionate about making a difference and delivering the platform for a transformed energy industry.
