Roxanne Showell is the Head of Service Transition at Worldpay, specializing in keeping the ‘Ops’ in DevOps and making sure that ‘Service’ is at the heart of everything.
Roxanne started her career in IT six weeks after graduating from Liverpool John Moore’s with a degree in Applied Computer Technology, joining the Graduate scheme at Transport for London(TfL) as a fresh faced 21 year old. Never shy of hard work, Roxanne made a name for herself by taking on actions beyond her role to enable the next round of change for the wider organisation. By the end of her six and a half years with TfL she’d held roles across the organisation, in projects, networks, procurement, innovation, strategy, delivery and operations both inside and outside IT, giving her an in-depth appreciation of the need for individuals, teams and divisions to understand the goals and value of others in order to Delivery the overall goals of the business.
This drive to continually challenge and improve, led Roxanne to join Worldpay, returning to a role she’d found rewarding previously, Service Transition. Roxanne was rapidly promoted to lead the Service Transition function within Infrastructure & Operations. At Worldpay Roxanne has built around her a culturally, ethnically, gender diverse and high performing team. Her Service Transition team is focused on ensuring new and changed services are ready for live and so they liaise with every project, developer community, business customers and production support. Not satisfied with a tick box approach, Roxanne has performed thought leadership, bringing all those groups with her, in how all of Technology should evolve to service lifecycle management efficiently, to automate where possible and right size the approach to optimise control through change.
Not content with applied technology process and management expertise, Roxanne is demonstrating deep knowledge in the Fintech industry also by completing an MA in Payments, as well as recently achieving “ITIL Expert” status.
