I am an interdisciplinary AI engineer with a demonstrated track record of AI innovation, impact, and advocacy. Throughout my decade long career, I have consistently pushed boundaries and leveraged technology to address pressing global challenges, particularly in the realm of ‘AI for clean energy and electric mobility’. My vision for a technologically advanced and environmentally conscious future aligns with the pressing global needs, making me a catalyst for change. In addition to my technical expertise, I have actively championed diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
I am a Senior AI engineer-cum-intrapreneur at Microsoft working on building generative-AI based products for Autonomous Systems, bringing state-of-art AI into innovative product ideation and prototyping efforts. Previously, I was an Energy + AI Staff Researcher at National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the United States, spearheading tool-development-centric research efforts for the digital transformation of the energy industry. I was awarded Chairman’s Award for Exceptional Performance for leading REopt Lite (an energy decision-making tool) software’s open-sourcing effort that enabled the transformational levels of cleantech deployments. Before that, I was a Transmission Grid Planning Engineer at one of the largest utilities in the United States named American Electric Power, where I served as an industry advisor for the Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSERC) as well.
As for my achievements, I am honored to be recognized with one of the most coveted honors, being named as one of the recipients of the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30’ (North America) in 2022. I am also a recipient of ‘The Cleantech Innovator’ award (2020) from the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) and the Distinguished Alumni – Chancellor’s Special Award (2022) from VIT University. In addition, I have been named one of the 50 most influential corporate and agency insights leaders of the day by Remesh (2020). I am an IEEE Senior Member and hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
Throughout my life, I have lived, studied, and worked in multiple countries across continents (United States, Canada, Australia, and India), which has helped me gain global exposure. My thought leadership is solidly backed by my hands-on programming, cloud integration (Azure), and product development skills that I have been using to innovate AI-based advanced analytics solutions for the electric mobility and clean energy industry. I received my master’s degree in Energy Science Technology and Policy (Electrical and Computer Engineering concentration) from Carnegie Mellon University, as an academic excellence awardee. My bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is from VIT University, India, where I conducted my Bachelor’s thesis as a full-ride scholar at Deakin University, Australia. I have published numerous journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters.
