I have been a primary school teacher and ICT/Computing lead for over twenty years and now work as a Senior Professional Development Lead for the DFE funded National Centre for Computing Education, facilitating some of their primary and secondary computing courses. I am also a Primary Computing Subject Matter Expert for the all three of the NCCE Computing hubs promoting and providing guidance to teachers in the North East on primary computing CPD courses and fully funded bespoke support available to their schools. In addition to this role I also work for the National Cyber Security Centre’s CyberFirst Schools program as Schools Outreach Lead supporting the recognition of schools who promote excellence in cyber security and facilitate links for them to local industry partners. I have been involved with the BCS for a number of years too, as part of Computing at School, in the roles of Regional Coordinator in Manchester and Community Outreach Manager in the North East, supporting networks of computing teachers to share ideas and expertise.
