Sareena works as a Management Consulting Manager in Accenture’s Financial Services (FS) Industry Group, helping clients unleash their potential with the power of technology and human ingenuity. As the founder of Accenture’s Women in FS Network, Sareena is committed to challenging the gender imbalance in the FS Industry and Tech sector.
Since embarking on her career at Accenture in 2015, Sareena has immersed herself in the dynamic FS industry, supporting clients with integration, digital transformation, and regulatory change, and has assumed a wide range of technology and business roles. Leveraging her deep understanding of Change Management and passion for technology, she has consistently helped Banking clients solve their critical business challenges through impactful technology change.
Sareena’s unwavering commitment to personal growth and development has propelled her career forward. Demonstrating her courage and ambition, she has assumed a leadership position, spearheading a Change Services engagement at a prominent Financial Services client. In this pivotal role, she oversees a technology and consulting working across onshore and offshore locations, responsible for delivering transformative change and technology initiatives.
During the early stages of her career, Sareena encountered first-hand the challenges faced by young women striving to excel in the world of FS and Tech. Seeing her peers experience the same struggles, especially in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sareena chose to bring together two traditionally male-dominated sectors: technology and FS, and established “Accenture’s Women in FS Network”.
Since its inception last year, the Network has rapidly gained momentum, becoming a powerful force in fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging, championing women’s careers in FS and tech, and providing a platform for men to become advocates, both within and outside the organisation. As the founder and leader of this network, Sareena dedicates her time to sharing best practices on diversity, equity, and inclusion with FS clients and partners. She actively contributes to thought leadership and launches initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and ensuring that women have equal opportunities for success. Notably, she collaborated with Accenture’s FinTech Innovation Lab, Virgin Money, and NatWest to host a flagship International Women’s Day 2023 event on the topic of “Unlocking Women’s Financial Inclusion and Empowerment”. This event aimed to inspire change and drive conversations on breaking barriers and empowering women to take control of their financial futures.
As a champion for inspiring the next generation in technology and paving the way for a bright future of inclusivity and opportunity, Sareena is leading volunteering initiatives to educate and upskill girls in tech and outside of work, she offers her time to mentoring undergrad business students.
Sareena firmly believes we can all play a part in driving gender equality today, for a sustainable tomorrow. Within Accenture, she is leading an innovative campaign to unite tech industry partners, FS clients, and the independent charity ‘Tech She Can’ in an effort to establish an “Ecosystem of Catalysts for Change” who align on shared purpose and inspire girls and women to thrive in the world of Tech, FS and beyond.
