Shannon is an Associate at Morgan Stanley, based in Glasgow.

She is a developer and one of our DevOps champions within the Network Security fleet, contributing to the ongoing review and development of the team’s established complex processes, working with key stakeholders to deliver streamlined, mature solutions.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Shannon worked as a Software Development Consultant, focusing on ITIL, automated software testing, and IT service management. Before moving to a career in technology, Shannon had a successful tenure as a primary school teacher, with special education and deaf education specialisms. She has a specialised BA in English, BEd in Junior – Intermediate Education, and post baccalaureate diploma in Education of Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Students from York University, and a postgraduate diploma with merit in Digital Education from the University of Edinburgh. Shannon also has a SQA Level 8 qualification.

Shannon is an outspoken advocate of diversity and inclusion, and passionate about using technology in innovative and creative ways to enable inclusion and accessibility. She is actively involved in Morgan Stanley’s Glasgow Book Club, the STEM Aspire programme, and the Firm’s LGBTQ+ networks and events. Additionally, outside of work she is a volunteer communicator and 1:1 supporter on behalf of the National Deaf Children’s Society.
