With a background in Financial Services, I took time out to raise 3 kids, live overseas for 10 years overseas and as 50 approached I decided I was ready for something new!!

In 2019 I signed up for TechPixies course in Social Media and quickly realised that despite societal prejudices I had plenty to offer and was keen to develop myself. My focus and energy had been diverted to family but my ambition to get back out there and re-establish myself hadn’t diminished. I was ready for whatever unfolded. I voluntarily ran the School Association social media accounts at my son’s school. The Headteacher encouraged and trusted me to establish community links and build relationships with local businesses.

I invested in some software, taught myself new skills and implemented them on social media platforms… fav without a doubt is Twitter!! I attended the WeAreTechWomen Conference in November 2019 which consolidated my self belief.

During lockdown I took a free Open Uni Course in Design Thinking and attended a host of Virtual Webinars run by WeAreTechWomen which were invaluable in order to up my game and provided networking opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise have been available to me.

In May 2020 I became 1 of 50 mentees on the Ada Lovelace Program sponsored by JP Morgan and in June I took up a position with TechPixies.
