Snap Finger Click is an independent game developer based in Brighton, UK. They make games that people can play together, both in the living room and over streaming platforms like Twitch.
Snap Finger Click was founded to be different from other game developers and they are very passionate about treating employees fairly. Staff are free to work remotely whenever suits them, working to whatever hours fit their lives best. Employees can work full time or part time. They recognise the importance of flexible working, which has helped attract a diverse workforce. They have also hired many people from outside of games, as they feel the types of products they make need input from a wide range of backgrounds, particularly when they are trying to appeal to non-gamers as well as gamers. Snap Finger Click is proud to have a team that is 42% female, 15% LGBTQ+ and 8% BIPOC.
In September 2021, Snap Finger Click was announced as a winner of a GamesIndustry.biz Best Places to Work Award. Snap Finger Click was a finalist two years in a row in the Employer of the Year category at the Women in IT Awards 2022 and 2023. It was also listed in the 2022 META Games Industry Index, for achievements in innovation, diversity, and longevity.
Outside of game development, Snap Finger Click supports the next generation of game devs. Development Director Martijn van der Meulen has spoken at local schools while Design Director Joanna Haslam has also spoken at Develop, Pocket Gamer Connects, EGX Rezzed, and is volunteers as Head of Operations in the Limit Break mentorship scheme for game industry employees from marginalised groups including women. Joanna has also been a big advocate of supporting working parents in game development, delivering a workshop on the subject for Limit Break.
