Sonya is a woman to watch in the tech industry, graduating in 2015 with a Business Studies degree from the Cass business school and achieving a Rising Star award in 2017. Whilst at university, Sonya shone as a role model creating and managing various societies, such as Cass women in tech and achieved a spot as the three finalists in a nationwide start up competition for a data led business plan. She has worked for dunnhumby, heading up the insight for total Tesco wine and Nestle at the age of 23, played a vital part in setting up the [email protected] community and is now managing a team of analysts at Merkle Aquila, working on clients such as 02, EON and Volkswagen, as well as sitting on the diversity & inclusion pillar. Outside of work, Sonya has founded Like Minded Females, a female Network in London which host free events for females to connect, empower and knowledge share. In 2017 Sonya won the rising star award from We Are The City and is a finalist for Tech Business woman of the Year sponsored by PWC in 2018. Alongside these, Sonya is the lead organiser for TedxSquaremile, a confidence coach for females in technology, am ambassador for Women of the Future and NABS, a Stem ambassador, hosted the women of silicon roundabout conference with 4,000 attendees and has been asked to host the Women in Data panel for Big Data LDN this November. Sonya is passionate about leading change, advocating female talent and supporting females in Tech from a young age.
