Sophie Frake

I joined the Bank 7 years ago as a school leaver, with no previous experience in Technology.

My career began as a .net developer and I have worked in multiple development teams dabbling in technologies such as Hadoop, C# and SQL, whilst studying for a part time degree in IT and Computing, with Applied Psychology.

From being a developer, I was the Business Engagement Lead for a strategic unified communications project impacting over 4500 people across the Bank.

I then moved into Delivery Management where I helped to shape the user experience of colleagues at the Bank. Within 10 months I delivered Video Conferencing facilities in the Bank Meeting Rooms, supplied over 180 rooms with conference phones, provided the ability to use external conferencing facilities within the Bank, alongside helping my own team move towards Agile Ways of Working.

I have been recently promoted to my current role where I now manage a team of 6 Technicians as Service Adoption and Operations Team Lead. I also lead a Bank-wide network of “Digital Ninjas”, of over 200 people, to help improve the Banks Digital literacy.

People are my focus and as an avid Wellbeing Champion, I have organised many events to ensure mental health is always at the forefront of people’s minds. Some recent examples are Time to Talk days allowing colleagues a safe place to talk about mental health, and Pictionary events to inject fun in challenging times.
