Sushma Subhashchandra

Sushma has worked in many technologies over the last 8 years since joining JPMorgan as a grad, constantly upskilling herself through training and industry certification.

She is a development lead in Credit Risk technology working on software critical to regulatory processes. She has made tremendous contribution to planning, design and development of new business features. She also has a provisional patent filed for a Dead Code Analysis tool she invented.

Sushma is an excellent mentor and lead to her team, guiding them on technical tasks and also career growth. She is also a technical lead on the Force for Good program, where JPMorgan employees work with charities to help with their technology needs. As part of JPMorgan’s philanthropy work with Katalyst, an NGO in India, Sushma mentored underprivileged girls pursuing their undergraduate degree by offering guidance in their studies and helping them develop their soft skills. She also volunteered for the SmartSTEM program in Ayrshire College where she spoke to young female students to encourage enrollment in STEM subjects.

Sushma has delivered multiple technical presentations, on subjects ranging from Machine Learning to Big Data, for the Take IT Forward community, a JPMorgan initiative that supports development and progression of women technologists. She has also moderated fireside chat with senior leaders in the firm discussing the importance of Mentoring and Coaching.

Her technical achievements aside, Sushma is also a promoter of wellness and a qualified dance fitness instructor. She started a dance fitness club for JPMorgan Glasgow employees and their families, and has been running it successfully since 2019. She is also an active member and part of the leadership team of firm’s business resource group which enhances the professional development opportunities of employees of Asian and Pacific Islanders heritage. She has organized multiple cultural events promoting diversity and inclusion within the firm.
