Amara Sharif | KPMG UK

Amara has worked for 15 years in Technology and more recently been seconded into Inclusion, Diversity and Equity as a project manager.

Aside from her day job, she is a self-published author who is passionate about increasing diversity in children’s literature. She wrote and launched “Inaya and Nia go to the Zoo” when she learnt that only 5% of books in the UK have black or minority ethic characters in the leading role. At KPMG, she also runs a successful reading programme, where every two weeks volunteers read with children to help improve their literacy skills at an East London primary school. Amara also spearheaded a Muslim network at a tier one investment bank for over a decade that went onto span several countries under her leadership as well as raising over £200,000 for charitable organisations.
