I always planned on becoming a barrister, but decided to change to Computer Science on a whim through clearing and I managed to secure a spot at Kingston University.

My first exposure to a workplace environment was during my university placement year at Dulux Paints, working in a service desk/desktop support environment. On leaving university, I managed to land a 1st line support role at the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER). I managed to work my way up the ladder to become the Helpdesk Supervisor. I decided to take some time out after getting married – which ended up lasting a year and I was then looking for something different in my next role, when a contracting company approached me and asked me to interview for a job at the Bank of England as a desktop support engineer in 2012 - 6 month contract to help on-board the FCA. My short stay in Desktop Support turned out to be 3 years. Executive Support came calling in 2015 and there I was supporting the Governor, Deputy Governors, EDs, Directors and their support staff with all their technical queries – 24/7. I became deputy team lead and stayed for another 2 years. I then moved to Data Analytics and Modelling in 2017 to help formalise/cement the compliance function (risk, audit, concession etc). Completely different to what I was used to as it wasn’t customer facing at all. After a year in the role, I became Team Lead DIS in 2018…. finally progressing to Enterprise Products Team Lead in 2022 with responsibility for three sub-teams.
