I started my career as soon as I left school by enrolling in the Year in Industry program and joining Cambridge Consultants as a Technology Scholar.

Here I had the opportunity to work on a range of cutting edge projects for a variety of industries, including wearable technology and robotics for agriculture.

After my industry experience, I went on to study Computer Science at the University of Bath. I developed a passion for Computer Graphics which led me to research the area further for my final year project where I created and trained a neural network to generate 3D representations of 2D sketches. Aside from my studies, I was a community leader; co-founding the university’s Women in Technology ACM-W Chapter, teaching non-technical women the CF:G Beginner’s Coding Course and working as a tutor for students in the years below.

As part of my course, I completed a second industrial placement year with JP Morgan Chase. In my day job I wrote code for a range of cloud-based microservices and the service I was responsible for was the first to be production-ready. While working there I decided to get involved with everything the community had to offer. I organised events as part of the WIT committee, participated in three hackathons and worked on many community innovation projects.

My achievements in my internship earned me a place on the JP Morgan Software Engineer Graduate program. Since joining, I have developed a range of automation solutions for my team and also taken full responsibility for the upgrade of a business-critical application that contributes to the global objective of my line of business.
