Mikela Eskenazi

Mikela is a commercial leader and Augmented Reality (AR) expert, building high-profile campaigns with the world’s largest consumer and retail businesses. Recognised as a “Digital Maverick” and named one of the top female digital marketing leaders in the UK by Campaign, Mikela oversees multimillion-dollar partnerships as the Commercial Director EMEA at Blippar, one of UK’s most celebrated tech companies specialised in Augmented Reality and Computer Vision.

Mikela leads a team which works closely with consumer brands, retailers and agencies, including Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, COTY and WPP. Using cutting edge technology, Blippar creates interfaces between the virtual and real worlds. As part of the company’s senior management team, Mikela also plays a leading role on strategy, talent acquisition, and technology product development.

Mikela’s work with clients has been recognised as ground-breaking, including being referred to as “true innovation and revolution in retail”. Mikela and her team were awarded “Best campaign of the year 2017” by The DRUM Marketing Awards for their work in the cosmetics category with MaxFactor. Mikela is a regular speaker and panel member at some the largest digital and technology conferences around the world and gave her first TEDx talk on the subject of the “Future of Mobile and Mobility” in 2012.

Mikela joined Blippar in 2012 to launch the Turkey office, and played a key role in the company’s international expansion, holding a series of senior commercial and business development roles. Prior of joining Blippar, Mikela worked in banking, where she developed a keen interest in technology and start-ups.
