I think security has a cultural reputation of being seen as the home of 'no'! Telling you what you did wrong instead of celebrating what you did right - and I want to change that.

I'm a creative technologist, and face challenges when pushing a different way of thinking, but I'm determined and it's paying off. You can imagine senior people's faces when I asked for money to create a cyber security online festival! Technology and security shouldn't be boring, we rely on it at work and at home and I spend my days raising awareness of the human risks associated with technology, and why we need to care about it.

I've covered Technology subjects as part of all my comms roles over the last 15 years, but have spent the last 4 years specialising in making people aware of Technology in healthcare (Aged care, dental practices, hospitals, clinics and insurance offices). My passion is to get technology and security teams thinking about the person on the end of the technology, and supporting them to do the right thing with it to keep information safe. I've been involved in everything from supporting the rollout of classification tools, to managing the simulated phishing emails, to launching a 'cyber ninja' badge and rewarding good practice.
