Given the circumstances, the team at WeAreTechWomen are having to do things a little differently with our awards this year. We will be holding a virtual award’s evening for all winners, sponsors and judges on the evening of 08 December 2021.

Over the course of the awards ceremony, you will hear from inspirational speakers and entertainers who will all be endeavouring to create a truly magically experience for you all. We cannot give you the true physical experience of one of our award ceremonies, however what we have planned will be an evening to remember!

Julia Streets is a champion of fintech entrepreneurship, innovation and diversity.

In 2007, Julia founded Streets Consulting, the business development, marketing and communications consultancy. She helped launch the Chi-X brand of international alternative stock exchanges, including Chi-X Australia. Since then she and her team have advised a wide range of firms in the world of capital markets, B2B and payments, and offering specialist technology including blockchain, artificial intelligence, cyber and more.

Wary that diversity and inclusion is fast becoming the latest corporate marketing jargon, last year Julia launched a podcast series, ‘DiverCity Podcast’. On each episode, industry luminaries shine a light on progress, call out areas requiring further focus and offer insights and best practice to help listeners drive change.



Bianca Miller-Cole is an award-winning Entrepreneur, having started The Be Group in 2012 with the belief that all individuals should be able to access personal development services. Bianca has developed her company into the ‘go to’ business for personal branding success. The business has an impressive list of clients including HSBC, Accenture, AMEX, Olswang LLP, Google, BT, EY, LSE and Kings College London to name a few.

Bianca became known as a public face after an excellent performance on BBC business competition, The Apprentice in 2014. Where 10 million people watched her on a weekly basis for 12 weeks as she battled for the coveted prize of £250,000 and a business partnership with Lord Sugar. Bianca battled in the final, becoming runner up but that has not stopped her progress and her idea for a diverse range of nude hosiery which became a reality when ‘Bianca Miller London’ launched online in November 2015, launched with Global Fashion Destination ‘Topshop’ in September 2016, QVC and the Morleys Group in 2017.

In January 2016 Bianca was awarded a prestigious ‘Power Profile’ from Linked In as one of the top 10 most powerful leaders on the website, she was chosen from 20 million members in the UK and is joined in this list by household names like Richard Branson, James Caan and David Cameron. Bianca has been listed on numerous lists for the top entrepreneurs in the UK and continues to be nominated and win awards for the work she does.

Bianca uses her knowledge and experience to assist budding entrepreneurs in making their dream a reality via various campaigns including working with Microsoft, EY, Evolve Housing and .UK (Nominet). Most recently Bianca co-authored a book with her husband and fellow established serial entrepreneur Byron Cole. The book ‘Self-Made: The Definitive Guide to Startup Business Success’ published by Hachette Group in October 2017; created to inspire, guide and assist budding entrepreneurs by taking them step by step through the process. She has since developed a mentoring programme which see’s her and co author / husband Byron Cole mentor over 200 entrepreneurs.

In 2019, Bianca appeared as the expert business advisor in Channel 4 show ‘Save Well, Spend Better’ in a 6-part series to help members of the public with their financial dilemmas. Bianca’s second book ‘The Business Survival Kit’ is due out in September 2021 with Penguin Random House chronicling tips to help every busy professional and entrepreneur not only survive but thrive in business; covering topics like imposter syndrome, anxiety, goal setting, romantic relationships, financials, stakeholder management, stress etc.

Bianca has become extremely popular for her keynote and guest speaking appearances due to her ability to engage, excite and inspire any audience with any topic. To date popular topics have included: Her inspirational journey, making dreams a reality, overcoming issues of diversity, being a woman in business and just generally how to motivate yourself to get ahead.



Shae Universe is a 26 year old Nigerian-born, British singer-songwriter from Hertfordshire. She moved to the UK when she was 4 years old and was consumed by the sounds of gospel and soul in her household before gradually beginning to shape her own unique sultry sound through the legacy of artists like Erykah Badu, Jazmine Sullivan, Brandy and many more.

Shae graduated with an American Theatre Bachelors degree in 2016 and has since progressed rapidly in the UK music scene. releasing multiple singles independently and collaborating musically with artists such as Boogie, Etta Bond, Ms Banks, Kojey Radical and Enny Integrity.

Upon coming back from Grammy week in LA, Jan 2020, Shae supported Sasha Keable at a sold out Village Underground show in February and shortly after, released an official music video for her hit single ‘No Stallin’.

Throughout 2020 Shae began pioneering a new sound which the listeners labelled ‘R&Drill’. This sound was spearheaded by her breakthrough single titled ‘You Lose’, released in May 2020, which also had a DIY quarantine visual featuring 116 women from all around the world including the likes of Emeli Sande, Sinead Harnett, Jaz Karis, Bellah and Lady Donli.

After partaking in the BET Soultrain Awards UK Soul Cypher December 2020 Shae released her first single and music video of 2021 for ‘Royalty’ which features British icon Kojey Radical. Most recently Shae released her ethereal single ‘111’ which was accompanied by an ethereal music video in ode to her angel numbers.

Shae is currently working on her first ever debut project, which will be released in the first half of 2022.



Jaspreet Kaur, better known as Behind the Netra for her poetry, is an award-winning spoken word artist and writer from East London. She is also an educator and has taught History, Sociology & Politics in secondary schools across London. With an academic background in both history and gender studies & a passion for social justice, Jaspreet has been committed to using her writing and spoken word to tackle gender discrimination, mental health stigma, the postcolonial immigrant experience, & taboo issues within the South Asian community.

She has performed at a number of events including performances – the Service of Celebration at Westminster Abbey, Theatre Royal London, Oxford and Cambridge University, London City Hall and the House of Lords.

Jaspreet has been awarded the Asian Women of Achievement Award for her work in Arts and Culture, the ‘WeAreTheCity’ Rising Star Award in Education.

We are very honoured to be working with our charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society, for this year’s awards. Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.
