Trudie has spent the last 11 years working at telecoms disruptor Three UK, where she founded the company’s first diversity group, Women in Tech.

In its first two years Women in Tech had run a coding course for mothers returning to work, been represented at London Tech Week, and met over 800 children in outreach projects.

Trudie led teams right across Three, managing people responsible for areas as diverse as customer support and e-commerce to the architecture of back end platforms. Having started her IT career as a developer she was able to bring a valuable technical perspective to her work in the management teams. She is known for bridging the gap between technical and business areas.

She started life as a scientist and has an animal welfare PhD about how chickens experience pain. Her curiosity around how science and technology impacts society has been a big driver in her work to date, and has recently inspired her to join Zinc VC’s social entrepreneurship programme. She is now working within Zinc to build a company that will unlock new opportunities for people in places hard-hit by globalisation and automation, using the insights that she has gained through her time at Three.
