Tulsi Parida

I am a sociotechnologist with extensive experience working in responsible and ethical uses of technology.

I am currently the AI & Data Policy Manager at Visa’s Data Science Lab, where I act as the bridge between the policy world and technical projects created by our data scientists. I work to keep Visa a leader in data and AI in terms of external engagements and I work on internal projects to set the agenda on ethics and data for good. I am new to the financial services/payments industry, but have been able to apply my learnings from previous years of work and study in this role.

I started my career in innovative ed-tech, constantly iterating on new forms of technology and delivery to enhance the way we learn. I worked as the Community Engagement Manager at Newsela, an edtech company based in New York and as the Director of Growth at Zaya Learning labs, an edtech company based in Mumbai. I also recently completed graduate study in the fields of technology, society, and business . I was awarded the prestigious Pershing Square Scholarship to attend a fully funded dual degree graduate program at the University of Oxford. I studied the MSc in Social Science of the Internet and the MBA. The scholarship is awarded to only five students every year, and is granted to exceptional students who “demonstrate the potential and commitment to finding scalable and sustainable solutions to world-scale social challenges”.
